I have attached many screenshots for further clarification. (It shows up as q49 under show midi window)īUT if I go into the system preferences application under "sound" only the built in microphone shows up under input.
ALESIS Q49 NOT RECOGNIZED SOFTWARE DOWNLOAD
Alesis Qx49 Software Download I cover that topic in details in my manual GarageBand 11 - How it Works (see link below). It seems that this type of question and confusion comes up a lot on forums. I have looked under the "audio midi setup" applications and it appears that my device is recognized there too. Alesis Q49 Not Working If the system (and GarageBand) recognize the Device then you get an Alert that a MIDI device has been added or removed. Control virtually any MIDI-compliant software Turn any device with MIDI output into a USB-MIDI controller Plug. Problems can arise when your hardware device is too old or not supported any longer.

This will help if you installed a wrong driver. I am just using a USB chord to plug it in, and the power on my midi keyboard is definitely on. Try to set a system restore point before installing a device driver. I have called a techi and he told me it was not supposed to show up there anyways, but it still does not make any sound.

Resetting the Keyboard, restarting the computer, trying different USB ports and everything.
ALESIS Q49 NOT RECOGNIZED MAC
It is connected to my Mac through the USB port and i have tried everything. However, underneath the input, it is only giving me the options of system setting or build in microphone. I have had this Alesis Q49 Midi Keyboard for several months now and it has worked great for me up until a few days ago when it stopped working in Logic X and Garageband too. So I put it down to Windows updates as that was the only thing that has really changed on my music machine. Google searches didn't turn up much of anything either. Just recently Windows wouldn't recognize it, so I couldn't use it in any DAW I have. It seems that it is recognized by my mac atleast somewhat because in garageband under the audio/media icon in preferences it says that one midi device has been. Not sure this is related, but I have an Alesis Q49 that I have been using for a few years now. Hey all, I purchased an alesis 49 keyboard 8 months ago, used it for a few months, and now am trying to use it again but I've been having some difficulty.
